Ellen Boyes was recently instructed by Lydia Welbourn of Pepperells Solicitors for a defendant charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs. After entering a guilty plea, a pre-sentence report was obtained and gave a recommendation of immediate imprisonment.
The starting point was 4 years 6 months custody, with a range of 3 years 6 months – 7 years custody.
After mitigation, the court stepped away from an immediate custodial sentence and imposed a sentence of 2 years imprisonment suspended for 2 years. Well done Ellen!
