ABOUT ELLEN

Ellen joined Crown Chambers’ Pupillage programme in October 2022 and has rapidly developed a broad practice across all of Chambers’ main practice areas.

Family Law:

Ellen has a keen interest in private family law matters and has experience representing clients at all stages of proceedings. Ellen has ample experience working with vulnerable clients and in cases involving serious allegations of sexual abuse, domestic abuse, neglect, and coercive and controlling behaviour.

Ellen represents those accused and also those alleging domestic abuse in finding of fact hearings; allegations which have included rape, sexual assault, and physical abuse.

Ellen has also successfully represented parties at contested applications for non-molestation orders and occupation orders.

Ellen also has an expanding public law practice and has represented local authorities and parents, from initial hearings, through case management, and at the IRH stage and final hearings.

Criminal Law:

Ellen is a Grade 2 prosecutor and frequently prosecutes cases involving stalking, harassment, ABH, and coercive and controlling behaviour.  Ellen also defends regularly in the Crown Court and Magistrates Court.

Civil Law:

Prior to starting pupillage, Ellen worked as a County Court Advocate. Within this role, Ellen represented both Claimants and Defendants in a variety of contested civil matters including small claims, landlord and tenant disputes, possession claims, and general civil applications.

Ellen is regularly instructed on RTA matters on the small claims track and fast track matters concerning RTA’s and personal injury.

Ellen is also regularly instructed to draft in-depth written advice for clients.
