fees & transparency information

In accordance with the Bar Standards Board (BSB) Transparency Rules, all Chambers in England & Wales are required to publish clear and accessible information about fees and indicative timescales.

Professional clients, licensed access clients and members of the public (where the Direct Access Scheme applies) are encouraged to contact the clerks at Crown Chambers to obtain Counsel availability and quotations via email at clerks@crown-chambers.com or calling 01482 014658.

Fees

Fees are assessed on a case-by-case basis and are influenced by a range of factors including the complexity, value and type of the case, the length of the hearing or time involved in completing the work and the experience of the barrister. The Clerks will confirm from the outset if fees are to be charged at an hourly rate, fixed fee or brief fee.

Timescales

The timescales for a case will vary depending on factors such as the availability of counsel, the complexity of the matter, the court’s timetable and the approach taken by the other parties. At the outset of your case, we will provide you with an estimated timescale. If there are any significant changes during the course of the matter, our clerks will keep you informed at the earliest opportunity. Timescales will be met where possible however factors may occasionally arise that impact upon the timescales given.
