Case Outcome: Billy Torbett successfully prosecutes in GBH case.
We are pleased to congratulate Billy Torbett on securing a conviction following a 3-day trial at Hull Crown Court.
Mr Torbett was instructed by the Crown Prosecution Service to prosecute a defendant charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm on a fellow inmate at HMP Hull, resulting in a broken hip.
During the trial, Mr Torbett successfully challenged the defence case, including through the cross-examination of an expert neurologist. The defence contended that the complainant’s injuries were the result of a fall caused by an epileptic seizure rather than the defendant’s actions. Following the evidence, the jury returned a guilty verdict.
