ABOUT KIRSTEN
Kirsten joined Crown Chambers in October 2025 as a Pupil Barrister under the supervision of her Pupil Supervisor, Naomi Madderson KC.
Previously employed as a County Court Clerk at Newcastle Family and Civil Courts, allocated to a Family Circuit Judge on the North Eastern Circuit, Kirsten has clerked for District Judges, Recorders, Circuit Judges and High Court Judges. Kirsten has been able to observe a wide variety of cases ranging in complexity and a vast array of advocacy, which she is using to assist her in her future practice.
Previously employed as a criminal paralegal and private paralegal, Kirsten worked closely alongside Kings Counsel at the Crown Court and Court of Appeal assisting in wide variety of criminal matters. Kirsten would assist in drafting multiple documents such as sentencing notes and closing submissions which were incorporated into counsel’s oral submissions. Kirsten would also complete research on specific areas of law to assist counsel. This experience gave Kirsten an insight into the work that goes on before a case is trial ready and developed her drafting and time management skills for future practice.
In Kirsten's spare time, she enjoys playing netball and going for long walks and hiking in the Lake District with friends.
